Who coaches the Great Lake Canadians (GLC) teams?

One of the defining features of the GLC program is the quality and diverse skillset of our coaching staff. With more than eight full-time staff members, GLC is recognized as having one of the top development staffs in the country. Our program is led by former MLB, MiLB, college and professional players with more than 60 years of playing and coaching experience.

How much are registration fees?

Registration fees vary depending on the player’s level. Visit our program fees for a full list of level fees and pricing.

Does GLC offer any financial assistance?

Although we don’t offer formal financial assistance, we do offer a player sponsorship program. We have various sponsorship levels and packages available for players to promote. 100% of all sponsorship funds raised by GLC players go directly towards their player registration fees.

Where do we play and train?

As soon as the weather permits (sometime as early as February), we move outdoors to our fully-turfed stadium: Royal Field. In addition to hosting our home games and practices, our players and staff have full access to the Royal Field facilities during the outdoor season.

During the offseason, GLC teams train at Centrefield Sports (CFS) - one of the best indoor baseball facilities in the country. CFS features:

  • More than 45,000 sq. ft. of training space
  • A 20,000 sq. ft. professionally turfed field
  • Nine full batting cages with pitching machines
  • Strength and conditioning area
  • 1500 sq. ft. weight room stacked with top-of-the-line equipment
  • Full access during open hours for GLC Players

What is the duration of the regular season?

Our exhibition schedule begins in early April with our ability to access our turf field. Our regular season begins May 1 and runs until early-August.

What age groups can join GLC?

We have seven teams ranging from 13U to 18U. In addition to our teams, we have a fall and winter development program designed for 11U – 13U players called Jr. Canadians

When are practices?

During the outdoor seasons, GLC teams practice on field at least once a week. This includes full on-field batting practices, position specific work and inter-squad/scrimmage games. During the off season, teams practice twice a week (once during the week and once on weekends).

Where do we practice?

During the off-season, teams practice at Centrefield Sports. Once the weather permits (sometimes as early as February), practice moves to our outdoor facilities: Royal Field and Field of Dreams.

Where do we play games/where is the GLC home field?

GLC teams play at our home stadium – Royal Field – located in Dorchester, Ontario (located just outside London). We have an additional natural surface field, Field of Dreams, at the same complex that we utilize as well.

What league do we play in?

GLC competes in the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL). It is considered the top league for amateur baseball in the country. 12 Organizations from Windsor to Montreal compete in the CPBL annually. Learn more about the CPBL.

Where do we travel to?

We travel around the province of Ontario for our CPBL league play. Depending on age group, we play one to three tournaments outside Canada each season.

Can my child join GLC as a multi-sport athlete?

Yes, many of our players are multi-sport athletes.
