After spending half a decade with the Great Lake Canadians, Tyler Mosher, a switch-hitting infielder, is now a member of the Davenport Panthers.

Mosher spoke highly about his time at GLC and the bonds he created with teammates. "GLC helped me advance and grow as a player, the coaching staff helped me create a solid player profile for myself within my play style. Some highlights would be spending countless hours with teammates creating friendships that will last forever."

One of those teammates is Blake Jacklin, who Mosher is set to compete with once again, this time at Davenport. "Going to Davenport with Blake has been great so far. We are rooming together and we've played with each other for 3 years before so it's just gonna make us closer as teammates. He's always been a guy that does the extra stuff and I think he's pushed me. It'll be exciting to see what the both of us can do at Davenport," he said.

Mosher was drawn to Davenport's coaching staff and on-field success, viewing the school as a good match for those reasons. "Davenport was a good fit because the coaches were down to earth but the program had a reputation of developing skilled players with a winning team," he said.

"Davenport has been great so far, training with the seniors and working with the coaches has already proven to be great for the development of myself."

Mosher, a glove-first infielder, noted that he's worked with the coaching staff on improving at the plate since he arrived on campus. "I have been working with the coaches at Davenport already really doubling down on making sure my hitting is where it needs to be to face the college pitchers," he said. "I take pride in my defence doing everything I can to make the play and I feel like I'm a contact based switch hitter."

17U Manager & Infield/Outfield/Hitting Instructor, Brock Kjeldgaard, had this to say about the switch-hitting infielder; "Tyler has established himself as a solid middle of the infield option. He consistently makes all the routine plays while also showing flashes of highlight reel plays. His nose to the grindstone approach on the field will serve him well moving forward into collegiate baseball."

His advice to the next generation of GLC Players:

"Some advice I'd give to younger GLC players would be to trust what the coaching staff has to say and teach you. In order to excel with the stuff they teach, put yourself out there and go the extra step on and off the field," said Tyler Mosher - 2020 GLC Grad.
