We’re back with our ninth Rawlings Alumni Update of the season, recapping the highlights from our alumni over the past week.

Highlights

Ari Sechopoulos - College of Charleston

Windsor, Ont. native Sechopoulos tapped into his power during this past week. The left-handed hitting slugger left the yard and drove in six runs against James Madison on Friday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday against Clemson, he doubled and drove in a pair. Charleston won three out of four, beating the Tigers and taking the series on the weekend.

Max Wright - Indiana State University

Indiana State is on a roll, having won their last five games and taking nine out of their last eleven. And during this run, performance from Wright has been a constant. He added six more hits this past week to his season totals, walking a handful of times, while his bomb during Sunday’s game is his eighth of the year.

Jake Wilson - Liberty University

Talking about teams that are hot, Liberty hasn’t lost a game in more than a week. With their sweep over North Alabama this weekend, they are now 25-8. Wilson road a nine-game hit streak into Sunday and picked up a couple of hits while driving in a few runs this past week.

Noah Myers - University of South Carolina

Myers came into the game in the top of the last inning on Saturday and made a difference. The left-handed-hitting outfielder sacrificed the runners on first and second over, down by two, setting up a two-run base hit to tie the game, and South Carolina went on to pull off the win. The Gamecocks are now 24-10.

Jordan Marks - USC Upstate

Not one, not two, but three Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week awards Marks has won thus far in the 2021 season. This past weekend, he might’ve had his most dominant performance yet. He went the distance, striking out nine and not allowing a run to score. Special is the only way to characterize Marks’ junior campaign.

Eric Cerantola - Mississippi State University

Cerantola went an inning of work Saturday against Ole Miss. He threw a scoreless frame, striking out a batter without allowing a hit.

Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

Alabama has picked up steam, and same with Dio. Over the last week, Diodati dramatically walked off Auburn, homered for his ninth of the year, and now has five jacks in SEC play and is slugging well above .500. Oh, and on Sunday, he had four RBI’s in their 10-9 victory.

Teddy Brimblecomb - Albion College

Brimblecomb (Kitchener, Ont) had a clean outing against Kalamazoo on the weekend. The right-hander pitched two-thirds of an inning without allowing any damage. He’s now gotten into three games in his freshman season.

Tyrus Barclay - University of Mary

Barclay had a terrific midweek series against Wayne State in which he picked up five hits. The right-handed hitting catcher tripled and doubled, and on the weekend, in his only hitless game of the week, he contributed with his arm, throwing out a pair of base runners stealing. Barclay’s two-way ability was on display this past week.

Jameson Hart - William & Penn University

William & Penn has won three out of their last four and Hart has been right in the middle of things. He had a three-hit weekend, hitting two doubles and driving in a pair. He looks to continue to swing a good bat against Peru State next weekend.

Ethan Baptie - Dodge City CC

Baptie had another solid week picking up a trio of hits and scoring three times. However, the biggest news of the week from the Woodstock, Ont. native is his commitment to the University of Mary. Congratulations to Ethan!!
