As we are now two months into the college baseball season, below is our eighth Alumni Update, recapping the performances of GLCs alumni over the past seven days.

Highlights

Ari Sechopoulos - College of Charleston

Sechopoulos, a senior first-baseman out of Windsor, Ont. picked up a pair of RBI’s against Tennessee Tech during Sunday’s victory at home. His double opened up the scoring in the fourth inning, and he added another run with a sac-fly to make it 2-0 before Charleston took control of the game.

Max Wright - Indiana State University

Indiana State took three out of four over the weekend and are now ranked in the top 25 per Baseball America and D1 Baseball. Wright hit a pair of home runs and is now at seven on the season. He leads the team in every major offensive category, including OPS at 1.084.

Jake Wilson - Liberty University

Liberty won four straight over the past week, and Wilson was in the middle of the action with his five hits. Getting on base via the walk as well, he scored four times in total. The Flames haven’t cooled down and are now 21-8 on the season and 8-1 in conference play.

Corben Peters - Grambling University

Peters, of Ottawa, Ont. went an inning of scoreless baseball vs Southern, picking up a strikeout in Grambling’s win. The Tigers are set to face off against the LSU Tigers on Tuesday.

Jordan Marks - USC Upstate

Marks went five innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out six during his Friday start against Gardner-Webb. His ERA is still sub-2.00 at 1.90, and he’s 5-1 on the year.

Spencer Marcus - Niagara University

Marcus, a junior out of Chatham-Kent, Ont. had a strong weekend vs Saint Peter’s. He picked up four hits, including a double, and stole a pair of bags over the two games. Niagara is now 12-6 on the campaign.

Eric Cerantola - Mississippi State University

In an inning of work on Tuesday, Cerantola struck out the side, unleashing a pair of impressive curveballs against Southern’s hitters. Watch and watch again below.

Kyle Maves - Quinnipiac University

It was another solid week for Maves as he added four hits, a stolen base, and an RBI to his season totals. The junior is now hitting .293 on the year.

Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

The Tide swept Texas A&M, and Diodati hit the game-winning bomb in the final. He collected five hits and four RBI’s and now leads the club with eight home runs. He is slugging .509 with a .375 on base percentage.

Brian Zapp - Miami Ohio University

Zapp picked up four hits over the weekend against Western Michigan, raising his batting average .25 points. Zapp’s been a regular in Miami Ohio’s lineup as a sophomore.

Lawson Burnett - Northwood University

Burnett, a senior out of London, Ont. went deep for the first time in his college career against Purdue Northwest. The infielder is now hitting .318 on the year.

Tyler Mosher - Davenport University

Mosher started his first four games of his college career over the weekend. He picked up his first hit on Friday, driving in a run to boot. And added his second hit on Sunday. He got action in the field as well, turning a pair of double plays.

Tyrus Barclay - University of Mary

Against Augustana during a doubleheader on Saturday, Barclay collected three hits and went deep for his second home run of the season. The Wyoming, Ont. native also threw out a trio of base runners stealing.

Nick Thibodeau - Howard CC

Thibodeau picked up his first home run of his college career on Friday after collecting two hits on Tuesday. Every opportunity the freshman has gotten, he’s taken advantage of and is now hitting .542.

Ethan Baptie - Dodge City CC

Baptie continued his stellar sophomore season adding his fifth home run of the season on Thursday. He’s now hitting .304 and has slugged all season long for Dodge City CC.
