We are now about halfway through the college baseball season, and there have been a lot of memorable moments for GLCs alumni thus far. Below are highlights from the seventh week of the season.

Highlights

Kyle Maves - Quinnipiac University

Maves had an excellent series against Niagara this weekend. The left-handed hitter batted .385, drove in three runs, scoring three times. Meanwhile, Maves was active on the basepaths as well, stealing a trio of bases to boot.

Brian Zapp - Miami Ohio University

It was a huge weekend for the Waterloo, Ontario native. In the four-game set against Eastern Michigan, Zapp’s three-run home run on Friday night was integral in Miami Ohio’s 4-3 win to open the series. Meanwhile, he went two for five in the final game of the sweep.

Mat Szabo - Angelo State University

Szabo, a senior right-hander from Sarnia, Ontario, pitched on Saturday, going two innings of scoreless baseball. He struck out three in his appearance and has now retired fifteen batters in 8.1 innings via the strikeout.

Jordan Marks - USC Upstate

The remarkable junior campaign continues for Marks. He went 7.2 innings against Radford, striking out eight and allowing just one run. He’s been consistently great this season and hasn’t slowed down one bit.

Max Wright - Indiana State University

Nothing new here, only a bomb and three RBI's in Indiana State's series win against Saint Louis. Wright hasn't cooled down either and is now hitting .324 with five home runs.

Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

Diodati added his seventh blast of the season against Tennessee on Sunday, taking a 96 mile per hour fastball over the right-field fence. Watch and admire it for yourself:

Jake Wilson - Liberty University

In Liberty’s weekend matchup against VCU, Wilson picked up four hits in six at-bats, driving in three runs. Liberty split the series and is now 17-8 on the season.

Jameson Hart - William & Penn University

William & Penn is now 23-8 on the season after finishing 4-2 weekend. Hart’s four hits and two RBI’s helped propel William & Penn to their wins.

Ethan Baptie - Dodge City CC

As the season’s progressed, Baptie has as well. This past week, he played in five games for Dodge CC and picked up seven hits, raising his batting average to .339. On Monday, he finished a single shy of a cycle, adding his third home run of the season. He scored nine times and drove in four runs this past week as well. The Woodstock, Ontario native is in the middle of an excellent campaign.

Alex Orenczuk - LSU Alexandria

Baptie wasn’t the only one with a seven-hit week, Colby CC grad Alex Orenczuk had seven of his own as well. He tripled, scored four times and drove in three, as he stays hot for LSU Alexandria.
