As we head into the sixth week of the college season, most schools have begun their season by now, and we take a look at how GLCs alumni performed in week five.

Highlights

Ethan Baptie - Dodge City CC

Baptie, a Woodstock, Ont. native, had a huge weekend at the plate against Hesston College. On Saturday, Baptie went deep, hitting a grand slam in the Conquistadors win. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Baptie added a double, his fifth extra-base hit of the season. He’s now hitting .303 on the year.

It was more of the same from Wright this past weekend. The left-handed hitting catcher picked up three more hits, two more RBI’s and a bomb. Indiana State won two out of three against UAB.

Jordan Marks - USC Upstate

Marks was great once again during his Friday night start. The Bright's Grove, Ont. native, went 6.1 innings and struck out five. His junior season has been nothing short of excellent, and his 2.20 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 32.2 innings speak to that statement.

Kyle Maves - Quinnipiac University

Quinnipiac opened up their season this past weekend, and Maves, a junior infielder/outfielder, appeared in all four games. He picked up a pair of hits, including a double against Monmouth, while walking a couple of times.

Jameson Hart - William & Penn University

Hart had himself another solid weekend as William & Penn won three out of four. The right fielder drove in three runs while picking up five hits.

Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

As Alabama played in conference games for this first time during Diodati’s tenure, the sophomore outfielder went deep in the second inning of the Friday night game against Arkansas. It was Dio’s fifth bomb of the season and 13th RBI.

Mat Szabo - Angelo State University

Szabo pitched on Sunday in his second appearance of the season and threw well. In three innings of work, he struck out five and didn't allow a run. Angelo State won the game and swept the series, and are now 14-2 on the year.

Alex Orenczuk - LSU Alexandria

Orenczuk added six more hits and a home run to his season totals. The London, Ont. native continues to make noise at the plate in his junior campaign.
