We are now a dozen weeks into the college season and one week into the minor league season. With GLC’s alumni performing at both levels, it made for an exciting week.

Highlights

Adam Hall - Aberdeen IronBirds (A+)

Baltimore Orioles product Adam Hall kicked off his season this past week. The IronBirds went 5-1, and Hall picked up his first two hits of the year, as well as his first stolen base and RBI. Going up against the Nationals' top two pitching prospects in Game 1 & 2, Hall picked up a hit against their top farmhand, Cade Cavalli.

Michael Brettell - Peoria Chiefs (A+)

Brettell made his debut with the St. Louis Cardinals HiA affiliate, the Peoria Chiefs, over the weekend. In his outing, he went 3.1 innings, allowing two runs, and striking out four batters.

Ari Sechopoulos - College of Charleston

Sechopoulos and Charleston are on a four-game win streak after sweeping their weekend series against William & Mary. Sechopoulos picked up six hits, a double, and three RBI’s, raising his slugging percentage to .440. Charleston is now above .500, sitting at 21-18.

Max Wright - Indiana State University

After a weekend off, Indiana State picked up where they left off this weekend, taking three out of four against Missouri State. Wright had himself a six-hit series, driving in a pair to boot. Wright leads the club in mostly every major offensive statistical category.

Jake Wilson - Liberty University

Wilson and the Flames swept their weekend set against Kennesaw State. Wilson added four hits and two RBI’s to his season totals, including this base-knock to open the scoring on Sunday:

Noah Myers - University of South Carolina

Myers (Wyoming, Ont.) played in all three games against Mississippi State over the weekend. The left-handed-hitting outfielder walked and picked up a base hit while coming up huge defensively as well in the finale.

Jordan Marks - USC Upstate

Another start, another win for the junior right-hander. Marks went six innings of three-run ball, striking out four against High Point. He’s pitching to a 1.76 earned run average this season. Marks has now entered the record books for USC Upstate.

Eric Cerantola - Mississippi State University

On Wednesday, Cerantola came out of the pen against The Citadel and struck out the side in his one inning of work. This is his third outing in Cerantola's last four appearances in which he K’d the side.

Kyle Maves - Quinnipiac University

After nearly a month of no games for Quinnipiac, they are back, and Maves hasn’t lost a beat. In three games against Canisius, he hit .444, driving in a pair of runs. Meanwhile, in ten chances in the field, Maves was perfect defensively.

Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

In two games vs Vandy over the weekend, Diodati got two hits, including his 11th home run of the season. The better the competition, the better Dio’s performed this season. He leads the club with seven home runs in SEC play while hitting .274 and slugging .536.

Brian Zapp - Miami Ohio University

Zapp added the fifth home run of his sophomore season on Saturday as Miami Ohio won two out of three against Ohio University.

Lawson Burnett - Northwood University

In two games against Parkside over the weekend, Burnett collected four knocks in six at-bats, driving in two and scoring three times. He’s hitting .355 on the season while the team is 25-10.

Mat Szabo - Angelo State University

Szabo, a senior right-hander from Sarnia, Ont. went four innings against St. Mary's on Saturday. He struck out six batters allowing just one hit in the win. ASU is now on a ten-game win streak and is 34-6 on the season.

Tyrus Barclay - University of Mary

Barclay’s regular-season college career concluded this past weekend. He finished the 2021 season with a .313 batting average, three home runs, and 16 runs batted in. He’ll look to end his playing days with a championship as the playoffs start Thursday. Best of luck to Ty and the University of Mary!

Daniel Warkentin - Eastern Michigan University

Warkentin had himself a great weekend against Bowling Green. He collected six hits, five RBI’s and hit his first bomb of the season. As the season’s gone on, Warkentin has performed better and better, improving his batting average .52 points since the start of May.

Jameson Hart - William & Penn University

As Hart’s senior season concluded, he went out with a bang. He picked up four hits, three doubles and drove in a couple. He hit .308 with a .388 on-base percentage during an excellent 2021 campaign.

Eric Martin - Olney CC

Martin picked up a hit in each of Olney’s last four games, driving in three runs. Martin concluded his season with a .378/.523/.732 slash line with seven home runs in just 25 games. Olney enters post-season play on Wednesday.

Ethan Baptie - Dodge City CC

Baptie was a key cog for Dodge City all year long. He added three hits, picking up two doubles on the weekend. He finishes the regular season with a .282 batting average and five home runs. The playoffs begin Friday for Dodge City.
