Jordan Spring will be off to Bossier Parish Community College when the summer season concludes, beginning his college career in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Spring joined GLC prior to the 2020 season, and although Covid interrupted his first year with the organization, the short amount of time he's spent with GLC has proved to be vital.

"GLC has impacted my career by giving me great coaching, the opportunity to compete against some of the best players and teams in Ontario and having great players that will make me want to work hard to secure my spot," said Spring.

"Even though my only season so far was our shortened COVID season I had lots of fun. Some of my highlights have been just switching over to the organization and seeing how much bigger and stronger everyone else was and it made me work a lot harder, another highlight was coming out of lockdown and actually being able to practice and have a little bit of a season."

The right-hander who committed to BPCC in September was drawn to the school for several reasons, stating; "I think BPCC is a good fit because they have lots of good arms and that will make me work hard to get the things I want to achieve. Overall it looks like a great school with a great atmosphere and great coaching."

"I look forward to living a new lifestyle, seeing new things, playing against and with new players, learning new things and I have lived in the same house my whole life so I am looking forward to living away from home."

Spring will head west with two of his GLC teammates, Dre Amaral and Drew Lawrence, something he’s very excited about. "I think it will be cool to go down to a completely new place with two of your friends, we will get to experience lots of new things and it would be cool to do it together and with the new friends we will make along the way," said Spring.

When asked about the right-hander, GLC's Pitching Coordinator Jon Fitzsimmons noted; "Spring is one of the more grounded and mature pitchers on our staff. He's the type of guy who doesn't let adversity get the best of him. He uses any failure he experiences to push himself harder the next time out. I'm excited to see what he can do in his final year with GLC and I'm confident when he gets to Bossier Parish he'll find success."

Spring credits his family for helping him to this point, stating; "my brothers and my parents have had the biggest impact on my career. I am the youngest of three brothers, all of us played baseball, so I learned a lot from them and from watching their games. Without my parents, none of this would be possible. They have paid for all of the road trips, hotels, equipment and drove me to all my games and tournaments. They have had the biggest impact on my career."

His advice to younger GLC players:

"My advice for upcoming GLC players is to use all the help and knowledge you can get from the coaches. Also, don't worry if you are not the highest-ranked player, you can still get scholarships and great opportunities, just play the game and have fun," said Jordan Spring, 2021 GLC Grad.
