College baseball is back, and so are our alumni updates highlighting the performances of GLC grads over the last week. Read below for write-ups on GLC alumni throughout all levels of college baseball.


Alumni Reports

Corben Peters - Grambling University

Peters, an Ottawa, Ont. native, made his season debut on the mound over the weekend, throwing 1.2 innings of hitless baseball in relief in Grambling’s opening day win. The right-hander struck out two batters without allowing a hitter to reach base. The Tigers are off to a 2-1 start as they prepare to face Florida A&M next weekend.


Noah Myers - USC Upstate

Myers, a senior outfielder, made his debut with USC Upstate over the weekend. The left-handed hitter wasted no time making his arrival known, going 4/10 with a home run while scoring eight times. The Spartans are off to a 2-1 start heading into Wednesday's matchup against Western Carolina.

Spencer Marcus - Niagara University

Marcus, a Chatham-Kent, Ont. native, appeared in two games for the Purple Eagles over the weekend. The senior outfielder reached in his two plate appearances. He walked and scored a run on Saturday and was hit by a pitch on Sunday.


Kyle Maves - Quinnipiac University

Maves, a native of Burlington, Ontario, debuted in Quinnipiac’s opening game. The left-handed hitter led off, walking twice and scoring a run. The senior infielder is coming off a strong junior campaign in which he hit .271.


Owen Diodati - University of Alabama

Diodati opened his junior season with a bang, hitting a walk-off come-from-behind home run to win the season's opening game. It was the fourth walk-off hit of Diodati's college career. He picked up another hit and RBI in the third game of Alabama's three-game sweep of Xavier. The Crimson Tide play Jacksonville State on Tuesday.

Brian Zapp - Miami Ohio University
Zapp, a Waterloo, Ont. native, got off to a strong start as Miami Ohio went 2-1 against UT Martin over the weekend. The left-handed-hitting infielder collected four hits, drove in a pair, and scored four times. He doubled and walked as well.


Matt Duffy - Canisius College

After a strong freshman year, Duffy got the ball in Canisius' opening game on Friday. The right-hander from Burlington, Ont. went six innings, striking out eight and allowing two runs in the Golden Griffins' opening day win. Duffy looks to pick up where we left off against Morehead State this weekend.

Josh Niles - Canisius College

Niles, a St. Thomas, Ont. native, picked up his first collegiate hit against Pittsburgh during Canisius’s second game, an RBI single. The right-handed hitting infielder drove in another run the following day. Niles is off to a solid start to open the 2022 season.


Aaron Duffy - Canisius College

Aaron followed Matt’s solid performance with one of his own. Duffy made his college debut on Saturday and went five innings allowing three runs and striking out two batters against Pittsburgh.


Core Jackson - University of Nebraska

Jackson (Wyoming, Ont.) made his college debut in Nebraska’s opening game on Friday. The left-handed-hitting infielder picked up an RBI and made a highlight-reel catch. The Huskers will look to get in the win column as they face TCU this weekend.


Garner Spoljaric - Embry Riddle University

Spoljaric’s 2022 season is well underway, having already appeared in five games. This past weekend, the right-hander went 3.1 scoreless innings in relief, striking out four batters. The senior from Lisle, Ont. has struck out six batters over his 6.1 innings of work on the year.  


Jacob Gajic - Northwestern Missouri University

Gajic, who spent his freshman year at Highland CC, is off to a strong start at Northwestern Missouri in his sophomore season. The left-hander has thrown 7.2 innings, allowing two runs, and striking out 12 batters. This past weekend Gajic went 2.2 innings allowing one hit, improving his season ERA to 2.35.  


Cam Sanderson - UBC

After missing all of last season due to COVID, and the majority of the 2020 campaign, Sanderson hasn’t missed a beat. The right-handed hitting infielder is hitting .310 with a home run and eight stolen bases since the season begun in early February. Meanwhile, Sanderson has thrown a clean 1.2 innings of work on the mound.


Brett Corbeth - UBC

Corbeth is off to a strong start in his own right, hitting .474 in 19 at-bats with four stolen bases. The catcher/right-handed pitcher has eight strikeouts on the mound in 8.2 innings of work and is two-for-three in stolen base attempts behind the plate.


Eric Martin - Olney CC

Martin is off to an impressive start to his 2022 season, with three hits in six at-bats. The left-handed-hitting outfielder homered in Olney CC’s opener and drove in three runs in total on the weekend.


Greg Ross - Howard CC

Ross has thrown 4.2 innings of scoreless baseball on the season thus far. The right-hander has struck out six batters and hasn’t given up a hit since his season debut on the 6th.


Julio Vasquez - Howard CC

Vasquez picked up his first collegiate hit last weekend, singling against Weatherford. The freshman catcher is set to face Grayson this weekend.


Riley Silva - Barton CC

Silva, a Barton CC freshman, is on the board with a single in his first collegiate game. Meanwhile, Barton CC is 6-0 on the season thus far.

Nick Thibodeau - Howard CC

Thibodeau has continued to slug in his sophomore season at Howard CC. The right-handed hitting catcher is hitting .333 with four home runs in seven games.

RJ Mayor - Mineral Area CC

Mayor, a right-handed-hitting outfielder, has already flashed his power south of the border, going deep in the club’s second game. He’s hitting .273, with three RBI's and two runs scored to boot.


Dre Amaral - Bossier Parrish CC

Amaral has appeared in three games for Bossier Parrish thus far, hitting .625 with a home run, three RBI's, six runs scored and a stolen base. Meanwhile, Bossier Parish is 8-2-1 and on the year.
