GLC lifer Evan Morrison is in the midst of his fifth and final campaign before heading off to school at the University of Waterloo.

Morrison is set to major in Computer Engineering at Waterloo, one of the top programs in North America for the major. He looks forward to studying and playing baseball for the Warriors.

"My goal for the future is to maximize my opportunities in baseball while also getting a degree in engineering," stated Morrison. "[I look forward to] keep playing baseball and continue to chase my dream of making it a career because a lot of kids don't get an opportunity to do that."

A left-handed-hitting infielder and right-handed pitcher, Morrison has been a key cog on the field during his tenure with GLC, as well as a great teammate. 16U Coach and Infield Coordinator Jeff Helps stated, "Evan is the player every team wants and needs. He works hard and is a great teammate."

"He competes in every AB and every pitch on the mound. He has a high baseball IQ and it was a pleasure to have him in our program."

Morrison's time with GLC came with a lot of accolades; he was a member of two CPBL Championship teams and the 15u Pitcher of the Year, but for the Mitchell, Ont. native, it's the memories with his teammates that stand out above all.

"The biggest highlight that sticks out over my GLC career are just the teammates I have had over the years. Because some of the guys I have played with for five years now - and some are brand new - but every team I have been on has been super tight and always a blast to be with," said Morrison.

Evan highlighted his father, James, for his impact on his career, stating, "from a young age he taught me the game and coached me almost all the way up until I joined GLC. He always pushed me to be better and still does and that is a big reason why I am where I am today."

For Morrison, he's always looked to maximize his abilities and looks to finish his time with GLC strong, keeping the same mentality he's always had. "I don't throw the hardest, run the fastest, or hit the ball the farthest but I would like to think no one competes harder than me or at least that's what I tell myself going into each game to fire me up."

His advice to up-in-coming GLC players; "Don't take anything for granted because it is crazy how fast time goes by."

Words to live by from 2021 GLC Grad, Evan Morrison.
