Son of former GLC coach Kirk Barclay, Ty left our program to attend Garden State CC, where he spent 2 years under Chris Finnegan, and earned all conference honours both years as the Broncbusters starting catcher. Upon graduating from there, Ty transferred to Emporia State University (KS) with head coach Seth Wheeler. There he was awarded the “Best Teammate Award” and voted team captain his senior year. Following COVID-19, Barclay set out to finish his career at UMary under Coach Spencer, helping the team achieve a playoff spot immediately upon arriving.

Ty is now entering his first year as a NCAA coach in the 2021-22 season. He will be overseeing the Marauder’s catchers, base running, while assisting Coach Platt with the offense. Ty has had previous coaching stints with the Great Lake Canadians, and most recently the Sylvan Lake Gulls of the WCBL collegiate summer league in an assistant coach role as well.

He holds a bachelors in communication, and is currently finishing up his Masters in Business Administration from UMary.
