GLC players will take the field this weekend to partake in the third installment of the GLC Combine. For the second time, the event will occur in Dorchester at the Field of Dreams, an opportunity for GLC's 14-18u age groups to showcase their skills prior to the start of gameplay.
The combine was brought about with development and competitiveness at the forefront. Director of Baseball Operations Chris Robinson stated, "We brought the combine into our program for a couple of reasons. First, we wanted to give our players an opportunity to compete against themselves, their peers and past GLC players and provide them with something to look forward to competing in prior to the season."
"Secondly, it gives our staff information to use on each individual player's development process, and finally, with the showcase setting being a source of evaluation in the game today, we felt putting our players in that setting internally will allow for them to be comfortable with that moving forward in their careers."
